This convent is situated in the heart of Pala town. This convent nearing centenary, extends remarkable influence in the social, cultural and educational fields of the Pala and nearby places.
    In 1921, sisters from Kannadiurump convent came to Pala and started a school. In 1925 it was upgraded as St. Mary's English Middle school. In 1932 it became High School. In 2000 it was upgraded as Higher Secondary School. This is the best girls school at Pala. According to the need in 1925 a convent was also opened and started a boarding for girls. Many girls who passed from this school got vocation and became sisters. The nursery class which started in 1964, has now become a big nursery school with 6 divisions. Because of the rush for admission to the boarding a separate boarding was also opened at nearby place.
    The convent has spread its branches to different places like Chemmalamattam, Puliyannoor etc. The old building was demolished in 1989 and a three-storied building was constructed which was more convenient. Now around 50 sisters of different ages are staying here.
    Besides teaching, in the faith formation of the students and in the activities of various organizations, the sisters here are very active and committed too.
